The question of what is philosophy is itself a philosophical question, and what it is varies from era to era. In Socrates’ time, it would have been agonistic debate in the city center, but that’s not what it is today.

And, do you think that you have to have a definition for something, before you can use it? I mean, do you need to know how to define what is a hammer, or what is *this* hammer before you can drive home a nail?
